On the same grounds of the Todaiji temple, Kokuji temple and Kasuga Taisha shrine, measuring 4 km east-west and 2 km north-south is the vast nature park known as the Deer Park. Many tame deers roam peacefully about in the grassy serenity of this park. Also Japanfs largest Buddha monument is located at Todaiji Temple.
