Kyoto- (formerly) Heiankyo- known as the capital of peace and the heartland of Japan. With primary influences of the Chinese culture and Buddhism, Japan developed itfs own distinctive culture and Kyoto became the nationfs capital for over a thousand years. Kyoto is a living art museum, blessed with many famous and ancient temples with superb artistry from every era. The city has faithfully preserved Japanfs precious cultural hierarchy.Because Kyoto is nestled amongst rolling mountains, it keenly reflects the changes of the seasons. You will be able to enjoy the changing of seasons all year round and will find a different beauty of the city each time you visit.

Nara - just an hour away from Kyoto is an older city and the first capital of Japan. Nara is also a home of various World Heritage sites such the Todaiji Temple, the oldest wooden structure of Horyuji Temple, and others including numerous Buddhist art and architecture classified as national treasures. On the same grounds of the Todaiji temple, Kokuji temple and Kasuga Taisha shrine, measuring 4 km east-west and 2 km north-south is the vast nature park known as the Deer Park. Many tame deers roam peacefully about in the grassy serenity of this park. Also Japanfs largest Buddha monument is located at Todaiji Temple.
